Strasburg C-3 operates on a four-day school week. The district provides a 1:1 initiative with students in grades K-8 using Chromebooks, and all classrooms are recently equipped with new SMART Boards. The student population is about 120 students in grades K-8, with 18 certified staff members. Strasburg is a rural community with outstanding community support located 30 minutes south of Blue Springs, MO.

The Strasburg C-3 School District is currently accepting applications for Parents As Teachers (PAT) Instructor
This position provides services to parents of children from birth through school age and the paperwork necessary for state reimbursement. This position reports directly to the School Superintendent.
Requirements one of the following is required:
● Certification and/or a four-year degree in either Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Vocational Home Economics, Family and Consumer Sciences, or Child Development and demonstrated ability in working with young children and their families.
● A two-year associate degree or two-year certificate program in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Nursing and demonstrated ability in working with young children and their parents.
● Sixty semester hours or more of credit from an academic degree-granting institution which is contained within the United States Department of Education’s Directory of Post-Secondary Institutions and two years of successful experience in a program working with young children and their parents as approved by DESE.
● Five years of successful experience in a program working with young children and their parents as approved by DESE and a high school diploma or equivalent.
Primary Responsibilities: To provide parents of children from birth to age five with the information and support needed to help give their children the best possible start in life.
Essential Job Function: - Plans and provides in-home personal visits for each assigned family. - Keeps and maintains records and all required forms for each child. - Attends and supports parent meetings as required. - Attends staff meetings. - Administers developmental screenings on an annual basis to children ages 1-3. - Administers health screenings, if necessary, on an annual basis to children ages 1-3. - Records and documents screening results. - Provides and completes all required end-of-year summaries of services delivered. - Fulfills all re-certification requirements. - Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills. - Adheres to good safety practices. - Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies. - Other duties as required or assigned.
This position requires someone that is self-driven and organized. The hours need to be flexible to meet the needs of the families that you serve, salary is to be determined.
